Focused on emotional regulation, our Treatment Center for women provides primary treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as a wide range of psychiatric and mental health disorders. The Center specializes in treating women who have struggled to improve in outpatient therapy, psychiatric hospital settings, or have been unresponsive to psychiatric medications.

Our unique program is designed to help women who struggle with emotional reactivity, interpersonal relationships, impulse control, and/or self-harmful behaviors. Often, clients have histories of early or unresolved trauma.

Our premier treatment center specializing in BPD is the only one of its kind on the West Coast. We offer one of the most extensive continuums of care available, including residential treatment, day treatment, and outpatient treatment.

Clearview’s residential treatment center for BPD houses only six women at one time, with treatment groups of nine or fewer, enabling us to individualize our treatment program to meet the specific needs of each patient.

We focus on the emotional struggles of women and assist them in developing emotional strength and more effective coping strategies for life’s challenges. Women emerge from our program with a sense of renewed hope, self confidence, and a proactive plan for living.

Our intensive individual and group therapy program utilizes the latest evidence-based treatment, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. Our team of DBT therapists has received intensive training by Behavioral Tech, Marsha Linehan’s training institute, or UCLA Harbor Hospital’s DBT training program.

Other services include psychiatry, yoga, art therapy, anger management, life coaching, nutritional counseling, and more. Every aspect of the program is designed with the needs of women in mind.

WOMEN’S RESIDENTIAL PSYCHIATRIC
Clearview Women’s Center specializes in treating women who have significant difficulties with emotional regulation. The center is one of the few programs of its kind nationally with a focus on treating Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). We house only six women at a time, with treatment groups of nine or fewer, allowing for personal attention to each patient. Treatment is delivered in the comfort of a beautiful residential home located in Venice, California, one mile from the Pacific Ocean.

DAY TREATMENT
Clearview’s Day Treatment Program provides a full day of therapeutic services, structure, and support four days per week. The program is designed for both clients who require a step-down from a residential or inpatient setting or those who do not require an inpatient or residential program but need more structure than an outpatient setting. The program treats clients with Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety. Substance abuse, eating disorders, and co-occurring disorders are also addressed. The program is centrally located in West Los Angeles.

OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
Providing over 20 groups per week and a variety of individual sessions, Clearview offers a flexible, individualized outpatient program that allows clients to maintain their independence and daily work and/or school commitments. Both daytime and evening outpatient treatment options are available to allow for optimal customization in programming. The Outpatient Program treats Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety. Compulsive behaviors such as substance abuse and eating disorders are also addressed. Clearview’s Outpatient Program is centrally located in West Los Angeles near employment, colleges and universities, entertainment venues, and the Pacific Ocean. Clearview and the surrounding areas are ideal for clients beginning the integration process.

DEPRESSION
Depression or depressive disorders (unipolar depression) are mental illnesses characterized by a profound and persistent feeling of sadness or despair and/or a loss of interest in things that were once pleasurable. Disturbance in sleep, appetite, and mental processes are a common accompaniment.

BIPOLAR DISORDER
Bipolar, or manic-depressive, disorder is a mood disorder that causes radical emotional changes and mood swings, from manic highs to depressive lows. The majority of bipolar individuals experience alternating episodes of mania (an elevated or euphoric mood or irritable state) and depression.

ANXIETY DISORDERS
Anxiety is an unpleasant emotion triggered by anticipation of future events, memories of past events, or ruminations about the self. Stimulated by real or imagined dangers, anxiety afflicts people of all ages and social backgrounds. When the anxiety results from irrational fears, it can disrupt or disable normal life. Types of anxiety disorders include Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Social Phobia.

DEPENDENT PERSONALITY DISORDER
Dependent personality disorder is characterized by an excessive need to be taken care of or depend upon others. Persons with this disorder are typically submissive and display clinging behavior toward those from whom they fear being separated. Persons with dependent personality disorder are often docile, passive, and non assertive. They exert a great deal of energy to please others, are self-sacrificing, and constantly attempt to elicit the approval of others.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Substance-related disorders are disorders of intoxication, dependence, abuse, and substance withdrawal caused by various substances, both legal and illegal. These substances include: alcohol, amphetamines, caffeine, inhalants, nicotine, prescription medications that may be abused (such as sedatives), opiates (morphine, heroin), marijuana (cannabis), cocaine, hallucinogens, phencyclidine (PCP), and others.

EATING DISORDERS:

BULIMIA
Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by binge eating and engaging in inappropriate ways of counteracting the bingeing (using laxatives or vomiting, for example) in order to prevent weight gain. The word “bulimia” is the Latin form of the Greek word bulimia, which means “extreme hunger.” A binge is consuming a larger amount of food within a limited period of time than most people would eat in similar circumstances. Most people with bulimia report feelings of loss of control associated with binging, and some have mildly dissociative experiences in the course of a binge, which means that they feel disconnected from themselves and from reality when they binge. With proper treatment, the prognosis for bulimia is good.

ANOREXIA
Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by an intense fear of gaining weight and becoming fat. Because of this fear, the affected individual starves herself or himself, and the person’s weight falls to about 85% (or less) of the normal weight for age and height. Affected individuals may increase physical exertion or exercise to lose weight. Eventually, the affected person becomes increasingly focused on losing weight and devotes most efforts to dieting and exercise. Anorexia nervosa is a complex eating disorder that has biological, psychological, and social consequences for those who suffer from it. When diagnosed early, the prognosis for anorexia nervosa is good.
